Out of curiosity, how many of you have a training or a specialty? It doesn't have to be necessarily related to combat or weapons, of course, but being able to drink everyone on the Barge under the table - though commendable - doesn't count.

[She imagines combat/weapon-related ones will be the most popular, but she'd still like to know how much of a diversity (or lack thereof) there is.]

Out of further curiosity, what is it?

I am security consultant, former soldier.

What was your rank prior to discharge?

I was sergeant, then entered special forces and was training made me officer. At discharge, I was major.

Climbing the ranks is never easy.

That mostly was easy. Promotions generally not related to actual performance but to many other things.

That's arguable. I'd say they're not always easy.

None always have intended effect, then. Assholes mostly predictable, sometimes get smart in stupid way.

That's where you just have to be smarter.

You may be very smart and still not stop large scale number of assholes.

It is nice that you are from place where officers are stupid. In mine, system is made to be stupid as possible for all so that no one does things rash. Better things not done than bad things done. This is very hard for defeating.

Who decides what's a bad thing or a good thing?

It is not so much good or bad as normal or not normal. Normal things are okay, not normal things are hard to make happen.

This is annoying when normal is stupid.
