[Polly has given Mal a measured amount of space. She's long-since realized that Mal will go about dealing with recent changes to the surrounding company in her own way. There's no sense in fretting over her or following after her like it will make a bit of difference because it sincerely won't. Mal will always simply do whatever she likes and perhaps with a display of bravado that is equal parts entirely disingenuous and as authentic as it goes as well.]
[But there does come a certain point in which Polly needs to give Mal a reminder that she doesn't have to go at anything alone and certainly none of this.]
I've got a second glass that needs drinking, Corporal. I expect to see you here in the pub in five.

[For anyone else, Polly is in the pub for a while before she calls Mal and hangs about for a while after Mal has left. Of course, after Mal has left, she's had a bit to drink (though not enough to be categorized as drunk, but given that she was drinking with a vampire it's somewhat of an achievement to be only as intoxicated as she is) so her cheeks are tinged a bit red and she may or may not be humming a folk song every now and again absentmindedly. And in those instances in which she may, Polly frowns upon remembering and realizing what she's doing and stops abruptly.]
[Polly's mostly sobered up by the time she leaves the pub and sits out on the deck, admiring the view.]
